Scope of Work:

Development of Tourism Master Plan along Kivu belt Region to implement International Tourism Master Plan for the districts: Rubavu, Rutsiro, Karongi, Nyamasheke & Rusizi.

  • Interview key stakeholder of the above mentioned districts
  • Diagnosis & Analysis of the available data as well as field visits to design a sustainable tourism Sub-Master-Plan
  • Provide a feasibility study and physical Master Plan
  • Prepare, collect and analyse data on the tourism industry in Kivu Belt region
  • Interview key stakeholder of the above mentioned districts

Description of Project:

Horwath HTL provided 400 man days providing the following services:

  • Audit Report on Tourism Products on offer and identification of new potential products
  • Inventory Report on existing conditions, Establishments, infrastructure and service facilities
  • Cost benefit analysis of changing the current land use and Environmental Analysis Report
  • Assessment of existing infrastructure and proposed measures of improvement
  • Physical plan for the whole region
  • Identification of investment opportunities, calculation of necessary public investments
